Khazntes: Women’s Voices of the Golden Age

Khazntes were female exponents of classic khazones from the Golden Age of Cantorial Music (early to mid 20th century). Judith Berkson, Sharon Bernstein, Jewlia Eisenberg, Sarah Myerson, Fredda Mendelson and others celebrate the artistry and music of the greatest Khazntes: Perele Feig, Goldie Malavsky, Fraydele Oysher, Bas Sheva, Sophie Kurtzer and Sheindele the khaznte. PJC is proud to announce and welcome to our Synagogue, Cantor Judith Berkson.  She is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who has been active in Jewish music and education, synagogue leadership and spiritual outreach for over 15 years.
